Hands down, the number one thing that people ask me is, “I’m visiting Boston, where should I get pizza?” Usually the pizza fans who reach out to me have heard of the big names like Regina Pizzeria, Galleria Umberto, and Santarpio’s, but there are a ton more great pizza places out there who fly under the radar when it comes to this question.
This list, in no particular order, is of my 8 personal favorite places to get pizza in Boston. A lot of these restaurants have huge sentimental value to me, and they’re the places that my friends and I go back to over and over again.
While there are many more great pizzas in Boston on top of the ones that I’ve named here, these are the ones I love most. 🙂 OKAY, enough sappiness. Here’s where I recommend that you get pizza in Boston:
Max & Leo’s at Game On Fenway
Max & Leo’s at Game On Fenway serves coal fired pizza right inside of Fenway Park, alongside wings, nachos, and other food that’s perfect for filling up on before catching a Red Sox game. They have a million TVs so it’s a good place to watch a game on TV too, like I did when the Red Sox won the World Series in 2013.
The best part of Max & Leo’s though, aside from their pizzas, is their patio right on Landsdowne Street. They don’t take reservations, so if you’re going before a Red Sox game plan accordingly and get there early.

Regina Pizzeria
Regina Pizzeria has an array of locations as a food court staple around the Greater Boston area, and is also served as the official pizza at Fenway Park. For the best experience though, go to Regina’s original location in the North End. The pizza and beer is relatively cheap, and the warm atmosphere is in a league of its own.
If you’ve got a big group and don’t want to wait in line, give Regina’s Allston location a shot. The Allston location also has a parking lot! If you’re near Fenway, their location on Boylston Street is also worth stopping by for a slice. You can’t go wrong with a classic pepperoni pizza from Regina Pizzeria. They’ve been around for almost 100 years, and are a Boston institution.

Galleria Umberto
Galleria Umberto is another pizza institution in the North End who have been making pizza in Boston since 1965. They’re famously only open for a limited time Monday-Saturday, from 10:45am until they run out of pizza. They serve literally only one kind of pizza- square shaped cheese sicilian slices.
They’re cash only, but Galleria Umberto’s prices are low and if you have $10 per person you will be able to get more than enough food. Come early, and come hungry.

Nebo Cucina & Enoteca
Nebo Cucina & Enoteca is located a block from South Station, making it a great place to stop by both after work, or at the end of a night out before you hop on the last train home. I’ve enjoyed Nebo both ways, and their prosciutto and fig pizza is to die for. While the rest of the menu is full of delicious pasta dishes, they don’t start serving pizza until 2pm.
They’re on the pricier side, but Nebo has a sleek atmosphere inside featuring brick and marble, patio seating right across from the Rose Kennedy Greenway, and a great Italian menu.
For parking, on the weekends you can usually find a meter spot in the Financial District within a 5-10 minute walk, and during weekday evenings I recommend the Post Office Square garage which has a flat rate of $9 after 4pm.

Penguin Pizza
I just love Penguin Pizza and they will have a place in my heart forever, even though they lost my credit card one time while running it. The service is hit or miss, usually miss, but it’s what comes with the laid-back atmosphere. Penguin Pizza also has really great wings, and trivia on Saturday nights.
They’re a great place to hang out and grab pizza and beer with friends, and have been a second home for generations of students living on Mission Hill. Parking isn’t hard but they’re also right off of the E line.

Stoked Pizza
Stoked Pizza has a brick & mortar location in Brookline, but they started out as a food truck and that’s how I got to know and love them. Their pizzas are cooked in a wood-fired oven and are absolutely delicious. My go-to order at Stoked is a pepperoni pizza with extra chopped pepperoni, which is well worth the indulgence. I’m also a big fan of their buffalo chicken and Porky pizzas.
You can find Stoked Pizza’s food truck during the week around the Financial District and Back Bay, and they commonly park at breweries on the weekend.

Posto
Posto is another wood-fired pizza food truck and brick & mortar combo, but their pizza is more traditionally Neapolitan. You really can’t go wrong with any of their pizzas, every one that I’ve had has been excellent. They serve a great classic margherita pizza, but you can also go outside the box with a buffalo chicken pizza or specials like honey roasted chicken or apple pizza.
Their brick & mortar in Davis Square is perfect for date night, and their location in Waltham is spacious and great for large parties. Parking is easier in Waltham, but it’s a bit of a drive outside the city. During the week you can find their food truck around the Financial District and at MGH.

Lincoln Tavern
Lincoln Tavern is a really fun place to grab a few drinks and eat delicious, creative food. They have two bars with first come, first come seating as well as a ton of tables. I do recommend making a reservation as they can get pretty busy.
Their pizzas are all pretty good, and I’m particularly fond of their simple marinara pizza, but my absolute favorite is Lincoln’s buffalo chicken pizza. My fiancé usually gets the Lincoln Burger, and our orders are a match made in heaven. Parking can be tough but it’s not impossible, and they’re about a 15 minute walk from the Broadway T stop.
